In ancient Egypt Lapis was a favorite stone for amulets and ornaments such as scarabs, it considered to be an amulet of great power. There are two types of Lapis available on today market. The first one is Lapis Lazuri, the finest gem in deep blue color lightly dusted with small flecks of golden Pyrite gemstone. The second one is Lapis which is more pale and in light blue color with white calcite veins.
