Often resembling ethereal landscapes or the surface of distant planets, Chrysocolla is a gemstone that suggests many possibilities. It actually forms where copper is exposed to air and water. The mineral is rarely pure and its crystal structure varies depending on the mix of elements. It is also found mixed with other copper minerals such as azurite, malachite, cuprite, lapis and turquoise.
